God was gracious and protected us from major damage as Irma passed over us early this morning. There is wide spread debris in The Villages and many homes lost some shingles and have some minor roof damage (at least at this time we aren’t aware of any major problems).
The church sustained some minor damage as well – some soffit panels blew off, some of our newly planted trees are leaning over, and there was a little water infiltration in a couple of places in the building. As of noon today the power was still out in the entire area around the church. But by and large we got by without major issues!
We do need to convene a team of volunteers to clean up the many small branches and moss that litters our parking lot and landscaped areas. So… we need as many as are able to come at 9 am Thursday morning to help do some cleanup around our property. Please bring rakes, wheel barrows and lawn/leaf bags for picking up all the trash that needs to be removed.
Many hands will make light and quick work of it! See you Thursday morning!
